Prologue

 
 
In the year 1071 of the Alphadian calendar...
 
It had been almost a century since an armistice agreement was signed by opposing sides in the Energi War―thereby bringing an end to hostilities.
 
The Energi War... A great conflict in which the lives of countless people were lost and an abundance of resources exhausted... The result―homelands and their people used like fodder as each power hungry nation fell into a gradual and almost irreversible state of decline...
 
This terrible war―one which reduced the world population to a mere fraction of its former self and left none the victor. A battle in which nearly everything was lost and nothing gained, as finally, this chapter in history came to a silent close. Vowing never to repeat the tragic mistakes of their predecessors, those remaining souls repented of their sins, and succumbing to nothing more than a few minor trifles in the days ahead, had managed to live in peace and tranquility for many continuing years.
 
Nevertheless, such a period of concord was one which could not last forever... For there was one particular nation which secretly persisted in the research of energi―their military strength increasing day by day...
 
Until seemingly all at once, the Schwarzschild Empire declared war on those remaining inhabitants of the world, and thereby asserting its sovereignty over them―as one by one, those nations grown accustomed to peace and which had not the strength to stand in their own defense, soon found themselves under the occupation and authoritarian rule of the empire.
 
And as rumors of war atrocities spread, it was only a matter of time before the Schwarzschild Empire exerted its full might across the globe and brought each and everyone under the control of its ruthless iron fist...
 
It was during this season of uncertainty that a small town on the distant frontier by the name of Heiland was about to see a chain of events unravel that would indeed shape the events of history as they knew it― Forever...
